EastEnders fans have been left terrified for Linda Carter after working out a harrowing DNA bombshell as Dean Wicks made his return to Walford

EastEnders fans have worked out a harrowing DNA bombshell as Dean Wicks returned.

Dean is back on the BBC soap, and immediately sought out Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). Dean – played by Matt di Angelo – made his return after going into the business with the Beales, whilst also supporting his daughter who is in hospital nearby.

A horrified Linda has vowed to get Dean out of Walford once and for all, making him a key possibility for the dead body at Christmas, but now fans are convinced they’ve rumbled a big twist that could see Linda connected to Dean forever even if he dies.

Taking to Reddit, one fan penned of a possible DNA twist: “I really hope they don’t go down the Dean is Olly’s dad route. I know Mick did a paternity test and the results concluded Mick was the father, but didn’t everyone just take his word for it? I remember there being this ambiguity regarding whether Mick was telling the truth or not.”

Actor Matt di Angelo teased what really brings Dean back to the Square – and what it might mean. He teased: “In all honesty, he doesn’t want to come back to Walford. He’s sort of forced back there because his daughter, Jade is very ill.

“She has cystic fibrosis and needs a transplant, which has to be done at the hospital nearby. Dean has to live there so he’s on call for her appointments and in case the transplant comes through, and they need to move fast. He’s reluctant because he knows the repercussions of returning, but ultimately, he has to help his family. Dean also needs to make a living whilst he’s there, so he’s invested in a new business, which will be revealed as Cindy and Ian’s new pie and mash shop, Beale’s Eels.”

Elsewhere, Kellie Bright has opened up about Linda’s “deep shock” to see Dean back. She said: “Linda’s in deep, deep shock. He is the last person that she expected to see walking through the door of her kitchen. He’s in her home and in the exact room where he raped her. She obviously goes into complete shock, and her body is filled with adrenalin. She is absolutely terrified, above and beyond anything else. It doesn’t matter what Dean’s saying, as Linda is in fight or flight mode from the moment he appears.

“Dean is taking the stance that he has always taken over it. He has always said, ‘It was consensual. You wanted me, and you told me that you loved me.’ He’s twisted everything in his head so that he believes it wasn’t rape.”
