Keeping secrets in EastEnders is a dangerous game, as Keanu Taylor and Sharon Watts (Danny Walters and Letitia Dean) should know all too well.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped both of them from bending the truth a little over he past two weeks, ahead of what promises to be a dramatic wedding – if they get that far.

Sharon was left utterly devastated when son Albie went missing several weeks ago, totally unaware that Keanu had orchestrated the whole affair.

After his plan to take Albie away failed, Keanu lied to Sharon and told her that he had been kidnapped, forging ransom notes to make his story believable.

Now, with Albie home and safe, Sharon is still completely in the dark. But it won’t stay that way for long…

In order to get Albie back, Sharon borrowed £50,000 from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in order to pay the ransom. It was Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) who ended up keeping this money, despite Keanu’s insistence that he wanted to find a way to pay it back.

However, in upcoming scenes, Karen makes no bones about frivolously spending the money, which sparks suspicion from Phil.

Meanwhile, an unimpressed Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) confronts Keanu about choosing to involve Karen in his kidnap plot, though Keanu remains unrepentant.

The confrontation leaves Mitch rattled, and, distracted as he is by his family’s behaviour, he ends up hitting Harvey Monroe’s (Ross Boatman) taxi with his van. Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) is furious, and demands that Mitch pay for the damage.

It is then that Karen steps in to settle the debt behind his back, naively paying Kat off with the money she stole from Phil!

When suspicious Phil examines the notes Karen gave Kat, he soon realises that there is something odd about them: They have the same markings as the ones he gave Sharon.

Though Phil is prepared to go in all guns blazing, Kat insists that they need more proof. When he sets sister Sam (Kim Medcalf) on the case, he is soon presented with the evidence he needs to prove that Karen and Keanu were responsible for the kidnapping.

Knowing that he is on to something, Phil storms round to The Arches in search of the rest of the cash, determined to prove that he is right.

When Kat catches him she is incredulous, and points out that Karen is much more likely to keep the money closer to home. Phil follows her advice and heads to 23B, but is turned away at the door by Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison).

Not one to give up that easily, Phil sends Tommy round on an undercover mission, and soon the youngster has found the stash of cash beneath Karen’s bed, proving once and for all that she and Keanu were the masterminds behind Albie’s abduction.

Completely unaware of Phil’s mission, Sharon and Keanu share exciting news with their family: They are going to have their wedding reception in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day!

Unfortunately, their wedded bliss is disrupted by Phil’s sudden arrival, as he drops the bombshell that Keanu was behind Albie’s kidnapping.

How will Sharon react?
