Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) has been left completely devastated after girlfriend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) seemingly abandoned their plans to run away together in EastEnders.

Eve had agreed to leave Albert Square to finally be with Suki, and the pair had arranged to get the last tube out of Walford and start again elsewhere, where they would be safe from Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) wrath.

Little did they know, Nish had already uncovered their affair, and was completely incandescent with rage.

He wasted no time at all in seeking revenge on Eve, instructing son Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) to kill her.

Thankfully, Ravi had a change of heart, and allowed Eve to run free, but on the one condition that she never return to Albert Square or contact Suki again.

Believing Eve to be dead, Nish sent Suki a text from her phone explaining that she had changed her mind and didn’t want to be with her after all.

This left Suki completely devastated and desperate for answers.

In recent scenes, Suki headed to see Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) who was shocked to see that she hadn’t left after all.

As Stacey made snide comments about Suki getting cold feet again, Suki cut right to the chase, asking Stacey if she knew where Eve was.

Suki revealed that Eve hadn’t turned up at the tube station like she was supposed to, and Stacey agreed to try and get hold of her before meeting up with Suki again later.

Back at the Slaters, Suki showed Stacey the text from ‘Eve’, explaining that there had been no arguments or wobbles leading up to it.

She pointed out how strange it was that Eve had taken all her stuff and not thought to tell Suki that she had changed her mind, and it was clear that she was worried something more sinister had gone on.

When Stacey suggested that maybe Eve had finally taken her advice to leave things with Suki in the past, Suki wouldn’t hear of it, pointing out that she would have told Stacey if that was the case, instead of leaving her equally in the dark.

Unconcerned, Stacey suggested that maybe Eve had gone on a ‘mad one’ in Brighton, or met up with Tessa again, though Suki remained unconvinced.

As Stacey suggested that, like Suki, Eve may change her mind and come running back, it was clear that Suki didn’t agree.

Will she get to the bottom of what has really happened, or will she spend the rest of her life not knowing?
