EastEnders: Whitney Dean makes final huge decision after shock pregnancy discovery
This article contains spoilers from Thursday’s (January 4) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) was left shocked after discovering that she was pregnant in recent EastEnders scenes, and was completely torn over what to do.
Boyfriend Zack Hudson (James Farrar) saw this as their second chance at having a baby together, though Whitney had already made it clear that she didn’t want to carry another baby.
Following a previous miscarriage and the tragic death of daughter Peach last year, Whitney decided that she couldn’t put herself through another pregnancy, and instead the couple made the decision to foster.
However, now that Whitney is pregnant, Zack is desperate for her to keep the baby, and was left devastated when she revealed that she didn’t think she could carry the baby to term.
Despite his own feelings, Zack assured Whitney that he wanted what was best for her, and suggested that they book an appointment at an abortion clinic as soon as possible.
Little did he know, Whitney was actually having second thoughts about her decision, and was still torn over what to do for the best.
Having headed to the allotment to spend some time at Peach’s tree, she was approached by Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), and soon she had opened up about her troubles.
Yolande was quick to offer advice, sharing her own experiences of fostering and longing to be a mother herself, and soon Whitney had made up her mind about what to do.
When Zack arrived home later, he was shocked to find pregnancy vitamins on the kitchen counter, and asked Whitney what they were for.
When she revealed that she had decided to keep their baby and wanted to give it every fighting chance, Zack was over the moon, and asked what had changed her mind.
As Whitney revealed that he had, he urged her not to make the decision based solely on what he wanted, but she assured him that it was what she wanted too.
Whitney explained that while she was still frightened, she knew she’d be able to get through it with Zack by her side.
