Michelle recently returned to EastEnders after her character Cindy faked her own death in 1998.
MICHELLE Collins has revealed the real reason she’s banned from working behind the Queen Vic bar in EastEnders.
Actress Michelle, 61, reprised her role as Cindy Beale on the BBC soap last year, having first taken on the part in 1988.
But one fan was left scratching their head after realising she hadn’t returned to her old job at Walford’s famous pub.
They wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “@missmcollins I only starred watching eastenders again when you came back and all the storylines have been brilliant. Also I’m waiting for you to be queen of the vic with George.”
The TV personality replied, “Ha ha ! Thank you but I m not good with props , I worked in the #oldvic @bbceastenders years ago I got sacked for breaking too many glasses !”
Michelle recently returned to EastEnders after her character Cindy faked her own death in 1998.
She became a household name upon her original debut and became the first of Albert Square lothario Ian Beale’s six wives.
Cindy had affairs, kidnapped her own children and hired a hitman to kill Ian, played by Adam Woodyatt, 55, for which she was ultimately sent to prison in 1998.
There she was killed off off-screen with viewers told she died in childbirth with daughter Cindy Jr.
In a surprising turn of events in August, Michelle staged a comeback following the revelation that her character had been in witness protection all along.
Her latest stint hasn’t been all plain-sailing, though, as she was forced to miss filming after being stranded in Malaga without a passport.
Michelle took to X just a few days ago to plead with her airline to let her fly home.
