EastEnders spoilers: Date disaster for Bobby Beale and Anna Knight – but he claws it back
Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) was totally smitten with Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) from the moment he first saw her in EastEnders, and since then the pair have been on quite the journey.
The path to true love was thrown off course somewhat when Anna learnt that Bobby’s murder victim, Lucy Beale, was actually her half-sister, and ended up sleeping with his best friend Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) amid the chaos.
Fortunately, the young lovers have managed to move past all that, and recent scenes saw Bobby take Anna on a date to a fancy restaurant, though things didn’t exactly go to plan.
Bobby went to a lot of effort to impress his date – dressing in his best shirt and drenching himself in aftershave, much to Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) disgust.
Cindy was even less impressed when she learnt who Bobby was set to be dating, though she held her tongue as Anna arrived and the pair set off to the restaurant.
However, when they arrived back on the Square, it became clear that things hadn’t exactly gone to plan, with both Gina Knight and Elaine Peacock (Francesca Henry and Harriet Thorpe) quick to pick up on Anna’s horrified expression.
As they asked what on earth had gone on, Anna and Bobby explained that there had been a misunderstanding at the restaurant.
They revealed that Bobby had ordered them both lobster, but Anna hadn’t realised that that meant seeing them boil the creatures alive.
Instead of enjoying a meal together, as they’d planned, Bobby and Anna ended up embarking on a rescue mission, bringing the lobsters back to the Square to safety.
Cindy later got a huge shock when she tried to get in the bath and found the ‘creatures’ swimming around.
Poor Bobby looked stressed as he explained what had happened, and Cindy was quick to jibe that he didn’t know her daughter at all.
Later, Anna popped round again to apologise for ruining their lunch, though Bobby insisted that she hadn’t, and he had still had fun.
With the pair still worried about what to do with the lobsters, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) stopped with his jokes about cooking them and agreed to drive them to Southend to set them free,
While it’s a happy ever after for the lobsters, will the same be true for Bobby and Anna?
