EastEnders spoilers: Exit for Martin Fowler revealed as he says his goodbyes
Martin Fowler (James Bye) is set to say goodbye to Albert Square for a while in upcoming EastEnders scenes before taking a trip halfway across the world.
When Martin learns that sister Michelle Fowler is undergoing an operation, he decides to fly out to join her and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in Australia, to support them in the aftermath of Michelle’s surgery.
Michelle moved to Australia after leaving Walford in 2018, after deciding that Albert Square held too many bad memories.
Viewers will know that Sharon recently fled to Australia with son Albie, after best friend Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) saved her from a violent outburst from Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) by stabbing him to death.
In the aftermath, the six women involved all made a pact to hide the body and conceal the true events of that night – but the pressure soon became too much for Sharon.
When it became clear that The Six would have to go back into the café and move Keanu’s body, Sharon couldn’t cope, and quietly headed to the tube station, bound for the airport.
The rest of The Six were horrified to learn that Sharon had left them in the lurch, and only found out when Zack Hudson (James Farrar) told Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) where she was.
With Martin now set out to join her in Australia, could the pair get talking about Sharon’s reasons for leaving, leading her to reveal the true reason behind her trip to Australia?
And could this set the stage for not only Martin and Sharon to return, but also Michelle?
