EastEnders has aired the return of a past villain three years after they were last on screen, as part of a twist linked to Keanu Taylor’s murder.
Denise Fox featured in shocking scenes on Wednesday night, as she continued to struggle after Keanu’s Christmas Day death. Viewers know that Keanu was stabbed and killed by Linda Carter, who was trying to stop him from attacking Sharon Watts.
Sharon, Linda, Denise, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Suki Panesar were all in the pub sharing a drink, when a showdown with Suki’s husband Nish Panesar occurred. In a separate incident, Keanu attacked Sharon leading to his demise – with his body buried under the floor of the café.
Denise is struggling in the fallout, and she’s not the only one. But the women involved in the secret crime are concerned Denise will blow their cover, while they have already threatened to frame her if she doesn’t keep things under wraps.

But there was a new twist in the plot on Wednesday, as Denise visited a past character in prison. It was serial killer and former Walford resident Lucas Johnson who was waiting for her, three years after his last stint on the show.
Killer Lucas faked Denise’s death amongst his other crimes, so she must be desperate if she’s visiting him. Denise visits her ex-husband as she struggles to get past Keanu’s murder, with her struggling mentally and sparking concern with her loved ones.
The episode ended with Denise visiting her ex and him asking her: “What are you doing here?”. New images show the fallout to this reunion, as Denise speaks to killer Lucas – but what will she say and how will he react?

Looking for clarity on the events surrounding Keanu’s murder, amid her nightmares and hallucinations, it seems she hopes to get that clarity from her killer ex. So might she give away her dark secret as she asks him about his crimes and how he came to terms with what he did?
Actor Don Gilet has reprised the role for the scenes, while it’s not known how long he will feature. Lucas has made a number of returns since his exit in 2010, featuring in scenes across 2016, 2020 and 2021.
