EastEnders star Harriet Thorpe lands new job with Coronation Street actors
The slew of soap stars will be teaming up for the one-off theatre performance
EASTENDERS actress Harriet Thorpe has landed herself a brand new role away from Walford with some fellow soap stars.
Rather than being surrounded by the Albert Square bunch, Harriet, known for her role as Elaine Peacock, will be getting acquainted with the Weatherfield lot instead.
She will be teaming up with Coronation Street favourites Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth) and Peter Gunn (Brian Packham) for a theatre production of Gypsy The Musical.
Performed as a charity fundraiser, the cast will descend on the Manchester Opera House for a one night only extravangaza.
Harriett will be playing the role of Tessie Tura in the production whilst Jodie heads up the cast as Mama Rose.
Produced by Hope Mill Theatre, Brian Packham actor Peter will play Mr Goldstone in the exclusive one-off performance.
Former Emmerdale star Tom Lister will also be making an appearance in the production alongside drag queen Divina de Campo.
Heralding the cast, one fan said: “How fantastic. What a great cast.”
Before another penned: “Best wishes for the show.”
As a third said: “Can’t wait to watch! It’s going to be an incredible night.”
EastEnders star Harriet is no stranger to musicals having made countless appearances on the West End.
Over the years, she has enjoyed spells in Cabaret, Wicked and Mamma Mia.
She first rose to fame for playing Carole Parkinson on the TV sitcom The Brittas Empire in the early 1990s.
Harriet went onto play Fleur in Absolutely Fabulous in one of her most famous roles to date.
She joined the cast of EastEnders last year when she took over playing the role of Linda Carter’s mother, Elaine.
