A clip from a Star Wars film that’s currently doing the rounds online has left EastEnders fans in stitches after spotting Navin Chowdhry in the scene.
The actor is currently playing evil Nish Panesar in the BBC One soap but is well known for starring in a variety of hugely successful films and TV dramas.
In this scene taken from the Star Wars film The Last Jedi – released in 2017 – Navin can be seen playing a character called Resistance Cargo Pilot – a far cry from abusive businessman Nish.
The social media user who shared the clip wrote alongside: ‘Screaming at Nish Panesar in The Last Jedi not being able to fight for the rebel alliance because he’s distracted over Sukis lesbianism!’.
Nish Panesar made his arrival to Walford in 2022.
A manipulative psychopath, Nish spent months controlling and abusing wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal), only for her to break free of the relationship and reveal she’s in love with Eve (Heather Peace) over the festive period last year.
On Christmas Day, Nish was very nearly killed by Denise (Diane Parish). While he survived his injuries and is back in Albert Square causing trouble, the same cannot be said for Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who was killed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Due to the remaining members of The Six (Stacey, Kathy and Sharon) also being present during the violent altercations, the women have all agreed to keep their secrets hidden – no matter the cost.
With Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) set to return in search of Keanu, and the likes of Linda and Denise on edge and struggling, Nish won’t be the obi-wan (we’re not sorry) after The Six when the truth gets revealed…
‘Being faced with Keanu’s mother is probably about the worst thing that could happen to Linda, especially on the day that she arrives’, actress Kellie Bright said.
‘I think she finds the whole encounter absolutely unbearable and it just pushes her further and further towards the edge.’
‘I think Linda thinks she’s got it under control. I think she thinks “it helps me get through my day” and that everyone else has got the problem, not her. I also think she thinks she can hide it much better than she can.
‘Poor Kathy, she is trying to be the voice of reason. If you imagine an elastic band that is stretched to its absolute capacity, that is Linda Carter, every minute of every day. That’s how she’s living her life.
‘The only thing that is relieving any of that tension is the drink, except of course it’s making everything worse but in her head, and in those moments, that’s what it appears to do for Linda.’
