A long speculated EastEnders return appears to have been confirmed, after a behind the scenes picture was uploaded to social media, showing a very familiar face in the background.
Clocked by a fan on Twitter, the snapshot had been shared on TikTok, and depicts the memorial picture of Lola on the Queen Vic bar.
But, most notably, Matt Di Angelo can be spotted in the background, all but sealing the return of rapist Dean Wicks.
While EastEnders remains tight-lipped about the big twists ahead, the revelation lines up long-standing theories which have been doing the rounds since a flash forward episode showed a dead body on the pub floor, surrounded by several of the Square’s most iconic women, dubbed ‘The Six’.
Many had already wondered if Dean was coming back after a clue at the start of the year, in which it was revealed that his mum Shirley (Linda Henry) had quit the Square to stay with him.
Speculation has since been rife that the absent villain would be the victim on the Queen Vic’s floor, and Linda facing Halloween horror lends even more weight to this theory.
Linda’s world will undoubtedly come crashing down when she comes face to face with her rapist after all these years.
With a mere two months before Christmas, it’s all heating up to the big murder reveal, and it’s now inevitable that Dean will play an integral part in it all.
He is by far not the only one at risk however.
Other potentially doomed names include abuser Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), soon to depart Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) and vengeful dad Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
It’s a busy end to the year in the soap, with a dramatic fire putting lives at risk, and a big wedding to come for Keanu and his bride Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
