BBC EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier’s return date sealed as co-star drops huge hint

Bobby Brazier's EastEnders co-star has teased his return to the BBC soap after his character Freddie Slater was arrested for the attempted murder of Theo Bainbridge

Bobby Brazier’s return to EastEnders is not far off, according to a tease from his co-star.

The 20-year-old actor, who joined the cast in 2022 as Freddie Slater, has quickly become a fan-favourite and even won an NTA award for his role on the BBC soap. Earlier this month, Bobby left the show in emotional scenes when his character Freddie was arrested and later released on bail for the attempted murder of Theo.

In reality, Bobby took a break to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, where he’s partnered with Dianne Buswell and has gained a significant following. Now, it seems Bobby could be returning to Albert Square soon. His co-star Molly Rainford, who plays Anna Knight on the show, dropped a big hint in a recent interview.

Molly hinted at who Anna might end up with in Walford, saying: “I think Anna realised pretty soon after she arrived that she had feelings for Bobby Beale.” She added: “But it’s a hard situation to navigate when you’ve got someone who’s part of your family, but not your family. It would be really cute if they could make a go of things.”

Speaking to TV Times, she suggested: “Freddie is the obvious guy for her to go for. But maybe the underdog will surprise her in the end!” Bobby recently revealed he’s been flooded with messages from fans praising his dance moves. However, he made it clear that his focus is on his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell and improving his skills.

In a chat with The Sun, he said: “I’ll pay attention to a few of them! But my eyes are focused on my Juliet, Dianne. She is unbelievable and performing every Saturday with her is so much fun.” Bobby admitted: “I appreciate all the compliments and people thinking I’m a star – I’m in a fortunate position.” He also made it clear that he has no plans to get involved in any relationship drama.
