BBC EastEnders character spotted wearing murder cufflinks during wedding scene – but it’s not Keanu

EastEnders viewers have spotted pictures from filming that could tease the victim of the Christmas Day death twist soon to air.

But despite the pictures showing Keanu Taylor preparing to wed Sharon Watts, showing he is her mystery groom from the flashforward clip earlier this year, it’s not Keanu wearing the cufflinks. He could be wearing them, as the location snaps showed actor Danny Walters hiding his arms.

Another snap though saw one cast member taking a break from filming while in costume, and the cufflinks were clear to see on his sleeves. The character in question is Phil Mitchell, and fans were quick to spot the cufflinks on his suit.

For anyone that doesn’t know the cufflink reference, the body that was shown in the flashforward to Christmas, that aired in February, had these cufflinks on their sleeves. We do not know who dies and how they die, only that they are in a suit with these cufflinks.

The cufflinks were last seen on screen during Phil’s wedding day to Kat Slater, and no one has seen them since. So for Phil to be clearly wearing them at Sharon and Keanu’s wedding, does it seal his fate?

Viewers know that a mystery male character will die, with one of six females tipped to be the killer. The moment was teased in a flashforward in February.

Sharon has been on and off with Keanu for the past year, with them ending their engagement. But it seems amid his cruel plan for her, he manages to convince her to marry him. The cast were pictured on location at a church filming the scenes, with a number of characters set to be in the scenes – including some of ‘The Six’.

In the scene this Christmas, Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Sharon and Linda Carter are stood over a dead body in The Queen Vic, while the male’s identity is not known. It seems like a showdown has occurred as all the women are either covered in blood or their clothes are ripped.

Over the past few months rumours have been swirling as to who dies and why, with scenes on the show heavily hinting at certain victims and motives. Most of the women now have a reason to be the killer with a potential victim, while there’s still a lot to find out.

Recently, Keanu was working on his plan against partner Sharon amid her possible plan to flee with their son Albie. He and his mother Karen Taylor have teamed up to fleece her and steal Albie. Viewers questioned whether Keanu’s plan would seal his fate, and whether him possibly wearing the cufflinks would prove this.

So to see Phil wearing the very cufflinks we have been watching out for has certainly thrown a curveball, and teased Phil could die after all. Then again, it’s been hinted he might not be the only one wearing them in the lead-up to Christmas…
