BBC EastEnders Eve star’s unusual connection to Emmerdale legend as affair exposed

The world of soap often collides but fans will be surprised at how EastEnders Eve star Heather Peace knows Emmerdale icon Jeff Hordley, who has played Cain Dingle since 2000

EastEnders star Heather Peace has known Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley for decades.

The actress, 48, is best known for her role as Eve Unwin on the BBC soap, making her debut in 2021. While Jeff, 53, has portrayed Cain Dingle on Emmerdale since 2000.

The world of soap often collides, but fans will be surprised at how far back Heather and Jeff go. The TV stars went to the same drama school and even went on holiday together when Heather was 18.

In a photo shared on X, Heather could be seen hugging Emmerdale star Joshua Richards, who has played Bear Wolf since 2019. As fans questioned how they knew each other, Heather shared a snap of them performing in the 2010 production of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Another fan commented about Heather knowing Jeff and she confirmed the fact. Explaining their history, Heather replied: “He was in the same year as me at drama school.”I also went on my first parent free holiday with him and another lad from college when I was 18. We went to Menorca. I fell off a scooter and ended up in hospital. True stories.

Heather’s character Eve has been at the centre of several major storylines since she joined the soap. But it’s no secret that fans have fallen in love with her relationship with Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

During Tuesday’s episode (November 21) of the BBC soap, Suki was devastated to see Eve happy with her new girlfriend, Tessa. Later, when Vinny (Shiv Jalota) questioned Suki about forgiving Priya for kissing Nish, she revealed her true feelings.

Suki let rip about the depth of her unhappiness in her marriage and how much she hates Nish. Devastated at his mother’s unhappiness, Vinny told her that if she wants to be with Eve, he won’t stand in her way.
