BBC EastEnders’ ‘hidden clues’ Keanu would die as Christmas Day victim confirmed
Things took an unexpected turn in EastEnders as Keanu Taylor finally met his fate but fans may have already spotted clues months prior that he was going to be killed off
Keanu Taylor’s death has finally been confirmed in EastEnders but eagle-eyed fans may have already spotted hidden clues that he was going to die.
The hour-long special of the hit BBC drama left viewers on tenterhooks on Monday night (December 25) as they finally discovered who was the Christmas Day killer and who would find themselves dead in the infamous Queen Vic. After months of speculation, the explosive scenes saw Denise, Kathy, Linda, Sharon, Stacey, and Suki in a compromising situation as the women tried to save Suki from her abusive husband, Nish.
After an intense confrontation which ended in violence, Denise smashed a glass bottle over Nish’s head, leading fans to believe that it would result in his death. However, it was Keanu who pulled the short straw when Linda stabbed him with a knife after Sharon confirmed that Albie is not his son and he won’t be seeing him again.
But before the explosive scenes aired on Monday, fans may have already spotted vital clues that Keanu would end up dead. One of the first hints was Keanu’s mum Karen’s exit.
Karen, who is played by actress Lorraine Stanley has been written out of the BBC drama. This may have been linked to Keanu’s departure.
Earlier this year, there was also another major clue which took place at the National TV Awards. EastEnders had a big night at the ceremony but when the whole cast gathered to collect their award for Serial Drama, there was a clue to identify the Christmas victim in the form of cufflinks.
During the awards ceremony, there were 10 male actors who all wore the same amber cufflinks that were seen on the Christmas victim in the flash-forward scene. Keanu actor Danny Walters was seen wearing the cufflinks – which could have indicated his death.
On the red carpet, actor Danny said: “There are 10 other male actors with cufflinks on – I think it is quite smart, we’re teasing the audience. But only Christmas will tell,” he said during a chat on the red carpet as he teased what could happen to his character.
