EastEnders viewers believe Danny Dyer could be about to reprise his role as missing Mick Carter on the BBC soap.
A twist in the latest episode involving Mick’s ex Linda Carter and pal Alfie Moon left viewers convinced Mick would be returning. Viewers know that Mick is presumed dead, and has been declared as being lost at sea after a drowning incident over Christmas 2022.
After a showdown with his scheming partner Janine Butcher, Mick went into the sea to save Linda as both women had crashed into the water. Mick couldn’t find Linda though and kept searching for her before vanishing.
Linda had made it to shore without him realising, and she and Janine were horrified as Mick was nowhere to be seen. He has never returned while his body has never been found.
He’s presumed dead, and Linda has struggled to move on without the love of her life. Fans have long predicted Mick will return one day given a death was never actually confirmed.

Now, some fans think his comeback could be sooner rather than later, after a twist that saw friends Linda and Alfie share a surprise kiss. Amid speculation of a romance, Linda kissed Alfie after a heart-to-heart about Mick and her alcoholism.
While fans were divided over the possible romance, many viewers believed it could lead to Mick returning. Taking to X, one viewer posted: “Bet the psychic will tell Linda that Mick isn’t dead.”
Another fan posted: “From a long-term perspective, it depends what they are going to do about Mick. We all kind of know his death was never confirmed for a reason.” A third viewer said: “I predict Mick is returning,” as a fourth wrote: “Mick will definitely be back in near future to save linda.”

It comes as a downfall was also teased for Linda, who turned killer this Christmas. Viewers will be familiar with the big Christmas twist, that saw Nish Panesar attacked by Denise Fox with him almost killed.
While Nish survived, Keanu Taylor was later killed off, as Linda stabbed and killed him after he began to strangle Sharon during a showdown. Now The Six – Linda, Sharon, Denise, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater and Kathy Beale – are hiding the fact that they covered up Keanu’s death, telling the police he attacked Nish and went on the run.
With Keanu buried under the floor of the café, The Six are barely holding it together as they try to move on. Linda recently made a confession about Christmas to Alfie – so how long will it be until she does it again and gives away her crime?
