Alfie Moon and Linda Carter look set to depart Walford this week on EastEnders.

The BBC soap has aired a huge story in the last few months, which culminated in Linda Carter being the one who killed Keanu Taylor in shocking scenes this Christmas. Linda has been struggling with her drinking after relapsing just before Christmas, but things have only got worse for her as she deals with the fall out from the murder.

In spoilers for next week on the BBC soap, it’s clear Linda is struggling as she wakes up at The Vic feeling regret and makes a confession to Elaine. Elsewhere, Alfie has a heart to heart with Ian and he encourages him to celebrate that his cancer treatment is over with a holiday and break away from the trials and tribulations of Albert Square.

Linda later bumps into Alfie on the Square and apologises for avoiding him. He tells her he’s leaving to go on holiday and as she heads to his flat to chat more, Alfie asks her if she wants to come with him – will she agree?

When Karen Taylor heads back to the Square, Linda is horrified by her arrival, with it no doubt prompting reminders of what she did to Keanu at Christmas when he attacked Sharon in a fit of rage. Elaine catches Linda and she reveals her plan to leave, but her mum tries to dissuade her. However, she’s adamant she wants to go away with Alfie.

With Sharon having already left The Six to deal with all that’s happened, Stacey is shocked when Elaine reveals that Linda is planning to leave the Square – with just four of them left, how will they cope?

EastEnders had previously revealed the moment Kellie Bright had found out Linda was the killer. As she sat down with Chris Clenshaw, the soap’s executive producer, she was told the news and was in shock. She said: “Are you joking? Oh no. I don’t mind being the murderer. Oh Jesus, why have you done this to me? I didn’t see that coming.”

Speaking about the big storyline ahead of the reveal, Chris added: “It’s been a long time in the making and the Christmas Day reveal really is an episode to watch live on Christmas Day. We’re thrilled with the buzz around The Six. It’s exactly what we hoped for; we hoped people would chat, we hoped people would speculate, we hoped that everyone would come up with their own theories and share those theories with one another. We wanted it to be a storyline that brings the viewers together too, and we’re over the moon that it seems to be doing that and the audience are enjoying being a part of it.”
