Worrying news
EastEnders fans are set for dramatic scenes next week as Reiss Colwell receives a worrying call about his wife Debbie. Soap watchers will recall that Reiss’ wife, Debbie, is in a care home after suffering a stroke while in the bath some time ago. Debbie is unable to move or communicate, while Reiss explained he was no longer able to give her the full-time care she needed. Debbie remains in a coma at the care home, with Reiss often visiting her with it not known whether she will ever recover.
Reiss has since started a relationship with Sonia Fowler and the two have decided to start a family together, embarking in IVF treatment. However, unbeknownst to Sonia, Reiss has used money from his comatose wife Debbie’s private account to fund their IVF treatment.
In upcoming scenes, Sonia tells Reiss that her latest appointment shows that she’s on track with this stage of their IVF treatment. Later, Sonia and Reiss prepare for the next stage of IVF and plan a romantic night together. However, they are soon interrupted when Reiss gets a call to say Debbie’s got a bad infection.
Later in the week, Kathy goes to see Sonia, who is waiting for an update from Reiss on Debbie’s condition. Sonia is ashamed as she confides in Kathy that she feels haunted by Debbie and fears their IVF attempt will be scuppered by this latest emergency. And it’s not long until a broken Reiss returns home after a difficult night at his wife’s bedside with Sonia comforting him.
Christmas twist

EastEnders has revealed a major new spoiler which sets the scene for the big Christmas Day murder twist. Viewers know that a mystery male character dies in the big episode, with six female characters at the scene of the crime – The Queen Vic. Now, a new spoiler has confirmed a huge event being held at the pub in this very episode, which could give away the identity of the victim who dies.
For months fans have tried to work out what happens in the scenes and who dies, as well as who the killer is. Clues along the way, and in the special flashforward scene that aired in February, have hinted at what goes down but nothing is concrete.
Now, new spoilers for December have revealed what else happens, or is planned to happen, on the day of the episode, after speculation earlier in the year. It’s now revealed that The Queen Vic will host the wedding reception of potential killer Sharon Watts and her partner, possible victim, Keanu Taylor.
Keanu now has a reason to be in a suit, with the dead body shown wearing one, and he also has a reason to be at the pub alongside his bride Sharon. So does he head for the reception and end up losing his life, and might his recent lies lead to his murder?

EastEnders fans will be screaming at their televisions next week as the BBC One soap is lining up explosive scenes. In upcoming episodes, Phil Mitchell rumbles Keanu and Karen Taylor’s revenge plan after he spots a series of clues in Albert Square due to the latter’s stolen cash blunder. Soap watchers will recall that Karen has been part of a dramatic storyline recently with on-screen son Keanu.
Keanu and Karen teamed up to steal everything Sharon Watts had, including her son Albie, after Sharon refused to put Keanu on his birth certificate. She also planned to move away from Walford with her son, leaving Keanu behind and with little access to his son.
Karen was furious and encouraged him to take revenge, leading to the fake kidnapping of his son Albie. Karen took him to a family member’s house and Keanu wrote a ransom note, leading to Phil lending Sharon £50,000 to pay the supposed abductors. Karen has been left hiding the money at her flat while Keanu has now got engaged to Sharon again.
In upcoming scenes, Mitch is unimpressed by Karen splashing the cash in The Vic and Phil gets suspicious. Later, Mitch goes to confront Keanu over the kidnap plot, especially involving Karen, but he’s unrepentant and due to his family’s behaviour, a rattled Mitch ends up in an accident when his van hits Harvey’s taxi.
Kat demands Mitch pays for the damage to which Karen goes behind his back to settle the debt using the stolen Mitchell money. However, a suspicious Phil examines the notes Karen gave Kat and sees they are his marked bills but an unconvinced Kat demands more proof.
After setting Sam on the case, Phil finally gets the evidence he needs to prove Karen and Keanu staged Albie’s kidnap. Later in the week, Phil is on a mission to prove he’s right about Keanu and Karen, starting at The Arches. And it’s not long until Kat catches him searching the place and he shares his evidence.
However, Kat is still incredulous and suggests that if Karen’s got the money, it will be hidden closer to home. In a bid to get evidence, Phil goes to 23b but gets turned away by Felix. Later, he sneakily sends Tommy over and the youngster finds the money hidden under Karen’s bed.
And in true soap style, just as Sharon excitedly announces that she and Keanu will hold their wedding reception at The Vic on Christmas Day, Phil bursts in to tell her that Karen and Keanu staged Albie’s kidnap for money. How will Sharon react and will the wedding still go ahead?
