Beloved character returns to EastEnders as Suki Panesar is brutally attacked by husband Nish
Could Nish meet a tragic end this Christmas as a result of his rivalry with Eve?
THINGS between Suki Panesar and her husband Nish come to a head once again as Christmas Day is on the horizon.
The EastEnders favourite is brutally attacked by the villain following the shocking return of her lover Eve Unwin.
Navin Chowdhry’s BBC One alter ego is thought to play a prominent part in the upcoming Christmas murder mystery as many viewers believe he could be the unknown man lying dead in the Queen Vic.
But before these suspicions can be confirmed, Nish Panesar has to face his wife Suki (played by Balvinder Sopal) as her lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) returns to the Square, determined for a fresh start with her.
Coming up, the pair of women find each other again, against all odds, and prepare to leave Walford once and for all, as they’d originally planned to.
However, Suki is stopped in her tracks by a surprise visitor and she finds out that Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) was released from custody after news of Eve being alive reached the authorities.
The hunky gangster returns home and it’s a hint that villainous Nish, who was held in custody on suspicion of murder, will not be too far behind him.
Eve is hidden away at No.31 as Christmas fever is in full swing in Albert Square and Suki joins her once again to finish off their preparations for their departure.
But while doing so, Suki receives a panicked phone call from her son Vinny (Shiv Jalota), forcing her to return to No.41.
Suki pales when she is confronted by an incensed Nish and the Panesar clan sit down to a tense Christmas dinner before she tries to leave.
Nish has made it clear – Suki is his wife and has to stand by his side no matter what, which thus prompts him to stop her from leaving again and drag her back to the table.
Unfortunately for Nish, Ravi has had enough of his behaviour and, in a surprising turn of events, he steps in to restrain his father in the kitchen, allowing Suki to flee.
Meanwhile, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is scolded by Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Eve for revealing all to the police and risking Suki’s safety.
Jack heads to No.41 to check in on Suki under false pretences and he’s the last person she wants help from.
Regular viewers of the London-based program will remember that Nish aimed to get rid of Eve permanently by pushing his son Ravi to kill her off away from Albert Square after finding out about Suki’s affair.
But once they were in an isolated location, Ravi let Eve go, pleading with her to stay away from Walford if she wanted to stay alive.
Eve ran away at a time where she was originally planning to leave the Square with Suki on her arm.
Without any update on Eve, Suki immediately recognised the warning signs and reached the conclusion that Nish may have had something to do with her disappearance.
This was due to the fact he went to prison for several years after murdering a man he believed Suki was having an affair with.
Suki and Stacey desperately tried to get answers about Eve’s whereabouts and when it was assumed that she had been murdered, Ravi and Nish were both brought into custody.
But with Christmas round the corner and a whodunnit taking place in the midst of the festivities, Nish and Ravi are both expected to meet a tragic end due to their misdeeds.
Could one of them really be killed?
How will it all play out?
Will Suki and Eve ever get the happy ending they deserve?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
