The iconic villainess has been trying to make amends after wreaking havoc throughout Albert Square since she first returned from the dead.

But bad habits die hard and, once again, Cindy will be up to no good after somebody she loves ends up in hospital as the result of a huge fire in Kathy Beale’s café.

Rocky set his wife Kathy Beale’s café ablaze in an attempt to file a fraudulent insurance claim which would give him enough money to pay loan shark Nish Panesar his dues.

But just as Rocky rubs hands next week on BBC One, keen to get the money he needs after a job well completed, the Beales are distraught as one resident’s life hangs in the balance.

Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins) is quick to blame Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) for the incident.

She storms back to Walford after spotting a warm moment between Kathy and her husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

Meanwhile, George Knight (Colin Salmon) comforts Cindy in The Vic and encourages her to head back to the hospital after sharing some home truths about her behaviour.

Back at the hospital, Cindy appears to have forgiven Kathy as she and Ian put the earlier events of the day behind them.

Unfortunately, it’s not long before the police arrive to arrest Kathy for her involvement in the fire – is there more to the situation than meets the eye?

Later on, news of Kathy’s arrest is rife on the Square as she remains at the police station having been questioned through the night.

Elsewhere, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and George are shocked to discover that Cindy slept the night at The Vic following a fallout with Ian.

Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) dotes on Cindy, but soon kicks her out when she later learns her mother has been up to her old mischievous tricks.

Upon her return to Walford, Cindy learned that her long-lost daughters, Anna and Gina, had both moved into The Vic due to George being romantically involved with new pub landlady Elaine Peacock.

While Gina has been reluctant to bond with Cindy, unable to forgive her for abandoning their family nine years ago, Anna has been trying to bridge the gap between them.

But will Cindy’s villainous nature get in her way?

Tired of the conflict, Cindy tries to find peace at No.45 after attempting a comeback at The Vic.

Later on, in an attempt to regain Ian’s trust, Cindy invites Kathy and Rocky to move back to No.45 which they gladly accept.

What does she really have in mind?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
