Alfie and Kat have a long standing history on EastEnders. However, the former lovers are not together anymore on the BBC One soap. Currently, Kat is happily married to Phil, while Alfie is rather single. Right around the time of Phil and Kat’s wedding story line, it looked as though they would fall out. Which lead to Long-time fans to cheer that Alfie and Kat should get back together. Especially since Kat became so worried when she found out about Alfie’s health concerns.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Despite the fact that Phil cheated on Kat right before the wedding, and Keanu and Alfie both found out the truth, the wedding went on seamlessly! Perhaps for a louder crash sometime down the line on EastEnders. But until that happens, we guess a Kat and Alfie reunion is not happening. In fact, i a recent media interaction, actor Shane Richie (Alfie) confirmed the same. When asked about it, he said he would like a reunion between Alfie and Kat, but not right now.
Shane believes that this is not the right them for the old flames to get back together on EastEnders. He feels that a lot of new fans don’t understand Kat and Alfie’s connection because they don’t know the history. Shane stated that the couple used to be on the covers of magazines back in the day. Teenagers used to want what Kat and Alfie had, and now those fans are grown up and have children. So that fanbase gets it and wants them together. But not the newer viewers.
Thus, Shane feels it is best to see for now where Kat and Phil are going on EastEnders with their relationship. Meanwhile, he believes that a new love story should erupt between Alfie and Linda! She has been supporting him through his toughest time, and most viewers can see a park between them. Furthermore, he added that he spoke about it with actress Kellie Bright (Linda) and she agrees. We both “would love to see something happen between the two.” In fact, Shane believes that if Kat sees Linda and Alfie together, kit might ignite some jealousy in her. Which could later become a base for an entirely different story!
