EastEnders airs another shock exit in murder story
This article contains spoilers from Tuesday’s (January 9) EastEnders which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Following the shock murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day, The Six have not been coping well.
Though they have tried their best to rally around each other, one person who has been missing from several of their clandestine meetings is Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who has taken the death of her former lover particularly badly.
In recent scenes, panic spread among The Six when builders arrived to begin work on the cafe, where they had haphazardly hidden Keanu’s body on Christmas night.
As the women discussed what they were going to do about it, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) insisted that all six of them must be involved – something that left Sharon feeling uneasy.
She admitted that she hadn’t slept since Christmas and that she was haunted by Keanu wherever she went.
Because of this, she couldn’t handle the possibility of seeing what he looked like now and therefore didn’t want to be involved in moving him.
When The Six later gathered in The Albert to discuss their next moves, Sharon was nowhere to be seen, with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) revealing that her phone was going straight to voicemail.
It soon became clear exactly what Sharon’s plan was, as she arrived at the tube station with a suitcase and son Albie in tow, revealing to him that they were off to the airport.
Later, when Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) bumped into Zack Hudson (James Farrar), she learnt that Sharon had headed over to Australia to visit best friend Michelle.
When the rest of The Six found out about her sudden exit, they were livid, with Denise Fox (Diane Parish) suggesting that they head over to the airport and drag her back themselves.
With so many bad memories on Albert Square for Sharon, has she gone for good, or will she return when the dust settles?
