EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier reacts to Theo twist and shares Christmas death fears
EastEnders' Freddie Slater actor Bobby Brazier discussed the latest twist involving Theo Hawthorne, and whether he could be the Christmas Day death victim on the BBC soap
EastEnders star Bobby Brazier shared his hopes over the horror twist involving his character Freddie Slater and villain Theo Hawthorne.
The actor, who is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, reacted to the major twist that saw Freddie almost kill Theo before fleeing Walford, with him sharing what he wants to happen next. Just days ago, Freddie was forced to flee after being caught up in a violent turn of events.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror and the Pride of Britain Awards 2023, Bobby spilled on the big storyline, while he also shared his worries over a looming murder twist. Confessing he didn’t know too much about his character’s future or his return plot, with him currently on a break, Bobby did tell us his thoughts on the Theo plot.

Freddie was arrested for attempted murder following a violent attack in the previous episode. Freddie had attacked Theo after he assaulted and tried to rape Stacey Slater. Theo and Freddie began to fight, before Freddie whacked him over the head with an iron before punching him repeatedly.
On Wednesday, fans saw Freddie arrested and led away by police, driven out of Albert Square in a police car. Moments earlier, Theo was taken out of the house on a stretcher, before the unconscious villain was taken to hospital in an ambulance. The following day, Freddie was questioned before being released on bail.
Freddie and his family made the decision for him to leave Walford for a bit while things died down, while actor Bobby has taken a break to film Strictly. The last episode of the week confirmed Theo’s fate too, as Jack Branning told Stacey her stalker had regained consciousness – and had told the police his version of events which did not match hers or Freddie’s.

Speaking about the plot in the fallout, Bobby told us he hoped it was the end of Theo – while he heaped praise on co-star William Ellis who plays the villain. He also shared his fears over being the victim of the looming Christmas Day murder twist, which will see one mystery male character killed off.
He told us: “The show is in a great place, and being a Slater is my favourite thing about being on the show. Those girls, I could speak about them all day I really love them, and what they do and how they do it and who they are on and off screen.” On the Christmas death, he confessed: “I have no idea who the body is, no one knows genuinely. I just hope it’s not me!”
Bobby also confessed he didn’t want Theo to return to the soap after the recent twist, hoping Freddie will have scared him off for good with the attack. He told us: “No, I hope I have scared him away forever. However, Will Ellis who plays him I absolutely love but Theo can do one. Will is a sweetheart. I haven’t got a clue what is coming up.”
