Months after we first reported Shona McGarty’s shocking decision to exit EastEnders, it still feels like a hard pill to swallow. Especially since she has been so iconic as Whitney Dean for over fifteen years. Walford will feel a lesser version of it without her. There is absolutely no denying it. However, another thing that has been pinching us and many avid viewers is the mystery around what her exit storyline will be. More so because Whitney has had a really tough life on the soap.
Ever since the news of her exit broke out, EastEnders fans have been hoping and praying that Whitney gets a happy ending on the soap. She truly deserves it more than anyone else. But will it really happen? Especially on a soap where tragedy and drama is only ever a heartbeat away? We are about to find out! The soap’s boss, Chris Clenshaw, has finally unveiled the truth in a recent media interaction. And it seems that Whitney Dean is about to get a Christmas Miracle!
Chris told Metro.co.uk, that it will not be easy to see Whitney go, but the curtains will fall for her in early 2023 on EastEnders. First off, he confirmed that Whitney is certainly not dying! So that is one huge fear off our plate. Furthermore, he teased that “there could be joy on the horizon before she goes as she is being gifted a Christmas miracle.” He shared that Whitney and Zack have a big story coming their way. However, he refrained from mentioning what exactly the “miracle” is going to be.
Currently, on EastEnders, the couple is trying to get things in order to be able to become foster parents. Zack had expressed his desire to try for another baby with Whitney. However, after going through the trauma of losing their baby Peach earlier, she declined. Whitney did not feel that her body or even her heart was ready to carry another baby. Especially, with the fear that she could once again lose it. This put the couple dangerously close to breaking up. However, Zack managed to come around and embraced Whitney’s suggestion of becoming foster parents instead.
From where we are standing at this point, there are only two miraculous things that could happen for Zack and Whitney on EastEnders. One, they will finally manage to get all the requirements straight and move ahead in their path of fostering a child. Two, Whitney could find out that she has become pregnant with Zack’s baby, which the couple decide to keep. This would give Whitney a chance to finally have a happy family life. Which she totally deserves at this point. The couple could then ride into the sunset in hopes of starting a drama-free life away from Walford.
