EastEnders may have confirmed the body on the floor this Christmas with just one line in recent scenes, which saw Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) confront rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).

Back in February, EastEnders teased a Christmas Day murder during a one-of-a-kind flash forward episode, which saw The Six – Linda, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) – all gathered around a dead man.

Ever since then, viewers have been speculating who may be on the floor and who may be the killer.

During that episode, Linda was startled by a photo of Dean, and expressed her fear of him coming back to Walford. Flash forward eight months to Halloween and Linda’s fears became a reality, leaving many fans wondering if Dean may be set to find himself murdered.

In recent scenes, Dean took on the role of Santa in the Beale’s Eels Christmas grotto, which Linda’s son Ollie was desperate to visit.

However, when Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) realised that it was Dean in the costume, she dragged the kids home.

It wasn’t long before Linda caught wind of the situation and marched over to give Dean a piece of her mind, and issue a chilling threat along with it.

‘You keep away from my children. You go near them again and I will kill you.’

With the murder just two weeks away, incriminating statements like this are huge, and we can certainly see Linda being pushed far enough to end up killing Dean.

Not only that, but any of the other five women would almost certainly fight him off if it meant protecting Linda, especially given Kathy’s line in the flash forward episode about her having a wall of friends around her to protect her from Dean.

With the end of the episode seeing Linda fall off the wagon after Dean played her false confession to the Queen Vic, the chance of her being driven to murder has almost definitely increased.

So, could Dean be the dead body on Christmas day, and could Linda be the one to kill him?
