There’s something on George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) mind in the lead up to Christmas in EastEnders as he gets closer to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) again.
The dynamic between George and Cindy has been tense ever since she returned to Walford. For Cindy, she has desperately attempted to reconnect with daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) but for George, he has sometimes struggled to believe Cindy’s motives, given she was undercover as Rose Knight when she was with him and never said anything.
Coming up, Anna and Gina decide to join Cindy and the Beales for Christmas lunch at Number 45, aware it will mean a lot to their Mum.
After learning that George is on his own at the pub preparing for Keanu (Danny Walters) and Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) wedding reception, Cindy decides to secretly head over there, hoping he’ll accept her offer of a drink.
Later, Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) and Ian (Adam Woodyatt) become jealous as Cindy and George take a trip down memory lane at Number 45.
Sensing Elaine is upset, George decides to think on his feet and lies, telling his partner that he’s booked a trip away in a hotel.
Unaware of George not being entirely truthful, Elaine makes to go back to the pub to collect some overnight belongings, but George convinces otherwise as they unknowingly avoid the chaos that is unfolding inside…
But what is going on with George?
Is he lying to Elaine out of guilt, because his feelings for Cindy are resurfacing?
