EastEnders fans demand ‘useless’ character is axed from soap – and slam BBC for ‘rewriting their history’
EASTENDERS fans have demanded a ‘useless’ character is axed from the soap – and slammed the BBC for ‘rewriting their history’.
The BBC soap recently welcomed two new members of the Panesar family, Priya and her daughter Avani.
They were introduced when Nugget ran away from home and went to stay with them, before the teen was dragged back to Walford by dad Ravi and family patriarch Nish.
However, the teen’s sudden change in personality has irked some EastEnders viewers, who took to X – formerly Twitter – to complain.
One wrote: “@bbceastenders the same writers who had Nugget bully a deaf teacher, help post a dirty pic about a classmate, and tease a pregnant teen classmate is suddenly a sweet kid?
“They don’t mention what a bad kid he actually is. THEY WROTE HIS HISTORY! I’m so lost.”
Another tweeted: “Get in the bin Nugget! Useless character that nobody cares about. Even his own dad didn’t care…”
A third added, referring to Avani: “Good to know there’s someone to match nuggets annoyingness.”
But others like the character, with one writing: “I do really like Nugget, he’s an awesome character and addition to the show.”
A fellow EastEnders viewer shared: “nugget and avanis bond is already so sweet.”
Meanwhile fans of the soap are convinced Nugget’s mum Priya will have an affair with Nish.
The pair have shared a number of lingering glances since she arrived in Albert Square, and last night, he checked her out as she removed her jacket in the Queen Vic.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “I have a feeling nish and priya will get it on and that’s how Suki will finally get with Eve freely!”
Another added: “Did… did Nish just flirt with Priya? Please don’t tell those two are going to have an affair or something.”
A third tweeted: “Ravi’s baby mum is gonna s**g Nish isn’t she?”
