EastEnders fans floored as they spot soap icon in X-rated BBC drama with Love Island star
Angela Wynter is best known for playing Yolande Trueman in EastEnders but fans have now spotted her in X-rated BBC drama Mood - that also stars a mega Love Island star
EastEnders fans have been left stumped after spotting Angela Wynter in a raunchy BBC drama.
The actress, 66, is best known for playing Yolande Trueman on the long-running soap. The fan-favourite character made her first appearance in Walford nearly two decades ago.
As the bubbly and positive B&B owner and former wife of Minute Mart owner Patrick Trueman, Yolande was a hit with viewers during her stint. However in 2008, the character left the famous square for Birmingham.
But 15 years later and Angela headed back on the show last year to reprise her role as Yolande. She has since rekindled her romance with Patrick (Rudolph Walker).
Away from Walford though, Angela has starred in an array of different shows and films. She’s appeared in the likes of Call The Midwife and Death In Paradise.
She also starred in the smash hit Christmas movie Last Christmas – which was written by Emma Thompson, who also starred in it. And in 2022, she bagged a role on another iconic soap: Birmingham-based Doctors.
But one television series that fans were not expecting Angela to appear in was BBC Three’s musical drama series Mood from 2022. The show, created, written by and starring Nicôle Lecky, follows aspiring singer Sasha.
But things take a sinister turn when she comes across influencer Carly, played by Lara Peake. The party girl then thrusts Sasha into her world of sex work.
The show was an instant smash, and bagged a BAFTA Award for Best Mini-Series in 2023.And it’s fair to say the show was rather raunchy, with orgies and drug taking all playing out in the show.
Love Island star Anna Vakili also makes an appearance in the show too. Anna, who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2019, appears in episode one as an influencer at a swanky event.

As for EastEnders star Angela, she plays the role of Gloria, Sasha’s late grandmother who appears in flashbacks. Angela pops up in episode three of the six-part-series.
Fans watching Mood were quick to point out Angela’s appearance. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Did not think I’d see Yolande in Mood.”
While on an EastEnders Facebook group, someone else penned: “Angela who plays Yolande in EastEnders is in Mood on BBC.” A third penned: “Thought I recognised her! It was quite good. I hope to see more.”
Another viewer wrote on X: “Moon on BBC is phenomenal. Nicole Lecky you created something truly brillinant.” A fifth gushed: “Agreed! Thought it was brilliant.”
