EastEnders fans ‘obsessed’ with lengths BBC bosses went to keep Keanu’s murder a secret

EastEnders fans are still catching their breath after the most dramatic Christmas episode in the history of the BBC soap but some fans have been left in awe by the mastermind plans of the bosses

Keanu Taylor was revealed as the murder victim

EastEnders fans have been left “obsessed” over the efforts of show bosses following Keanu’s murder.

Over the past ten months, viewers have been on eggshells as they have patiently awaited to find out who the mystery killer and her victim is. But as the dramatic story came to an end, fans were left on the edge of their seats as the dramatic storyline came to a climax.

Viewers initially saw Denise Fox (Dianne Parish) attack Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) by hitting him over the back of the head with a bottle, causing him to fall unconscious. But amidst the panic, The Six (Stacey Slater, Denise, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts and Suki Panesar), escaped to the backroom of The Queen Vic as Keanu Taylor attempted to make his way upstairs.

But, he was soon halted by his former fiancée, Sharon, who jilted him at the alter. In a mad attempt to get upstairs to see Albie, Keanu wrapped his hands around Sharon’s neck and began strangling her. In a major twist, Linda picked up a carving fork and slammed it into his back – making him the mystery victim.

However, fans have been left in a state of shock after remembering that Keanu was seen on set in November, while the cast filmed the emotional funeral of Aunt Sal. One image showed Keanu standing outside the famous church wearing a black suit and black aviator sunglasses while talking to Jacqueline Jossa, who is reprising her role as Lauren Branning.

Meanwhile, other images show Keanu fleeing the UK which appeared to suggest that he wasn’t the murder victim lying on the floor of The Queen Vic.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans couldn’t contain themselves as one penned: “Obsessed with #EastEnders staging these to hide the fact Keanu was the body.” A second added: “These pictures did look very suspicious at the time. And Clenshaw did say they’d taken some measures, which he wouldn’t confirm, to throw people off the scent.”

Meanwhile, a third tweeted: “So we were obsessed with the cufflink and the person laying on the floor in the pub and all the clues out in the main pub…. And the actual death didn’t happen in the main pub, had none of the clues and didn’t even have the cufflink involved! #EastEnders.” Another commented: “Obsessed with the fact they tried to make us think it was Jack all last week just for him to barely have that much of a role in the episode, he didn’t even enter the pub.”

As the drama unfolds in the Vic, viewers will see the aftermath of Keanu’s murder as the residents of Albert Square wake up to total chaos.
