EastEnders’ fans praise the ‘insane attention to detail’ as wrench used to cover Freddie’s attack on stalker Theo mirrors Stacey’s 2019 storyline
EastEnders’ fans have praised the ‘attention to detail’ in Theo Hawthorne’s attack as traces of the past seeped into the storyline.
Eagle-eyed viewers previously noticed Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) echoed his mother Little Mo New Years 2001 storyline when he whacked the stalker over the head with an iron.
On Thursday’s episode, the links continued as Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) questioned Stacey (Lacey Turner) over her claims Theo was armed with a wrench.
She asked: ‘What is it with you and wrenches?’
Viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to praise producers as the show paid reference to when Stacey hit Phil Mitchell over the head with a wrench back in 2019, leaving him almost dead as she tried to protect Martin.

Stepping in to protect him, Jean told the officers: ‘You do remember he has ADHD, you are confusing a vulnerable person and I will not have it.’
Later, Freddie was released on bail and confessed he was worried he was just like his father.
She told him: ‘Your father was a monster, maybe you’d be better with your mum for a wile. just until all this dies down.’

It comes after viewers were on the edge of their seats as they watched the aftermath of Freddie Slater’s violent attack on Theo on EastEnders on Wednesday night.
In the nail-biting episode, Freddie and Stacey hatched a plan to get him off the hook, with the help of Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).
In what is an echo of his mother Little Mo’s storyline, Freddie realised he faced a stint in prison after violently whacking his former tutor with an iron.
But with the help of Eve and Stacey, who ran to Theo’s car and was shocked to discovered her underwear in his glove compartment, an elaborate plan was created to cover their tracks.
She discovered a wrench in the boot of her stalker’s car and placed it at the scene as a weapon before calling police and emergency services.

Throwback: A violent showdown with his former tutor Theo Hawthorne the soap drew parallels to one of the show’s most harrowing moments
On Tuesday, Freddie was left shaken after an encounter with his biological dad Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney) and soon spiralled, going on to get into an altercation in The Vic before things escalated further.
Freddie struggled to shake the fear that he could end up like his evil father, but it appears that he could in-fact be more like his mum Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth).
A showdown between father and son began when Freddie demanded that Graham admitted he raped Little Mo.
As the difficult day went from bad to worse, Freddie tried and failed to put things right.
He had a row with Stacey and a drunk altercation with a couple at the club.
Arriving home, Freddie found Theo has broken in and was attempting to rape Stacey, having pinned her to the floor.
As a fight broke out Theo hit Freddie after he dragged him off Stacey, with the stalker claiming Stacey had ‘led him on.’
Triggered by his use of the phrase, Freddie reached for an iron and violently attacked Theo, knocking him to the floor, where he lay lifeless.
The horrifying scenes echoed his mum Little Mo’s New Years 2001 storyline where viewers her strike her husband Trevor Morgan with an iron.
Little Mo and Trevor’s violent marriage took centre stage for some of EastEnders most harrowing domestic abuse storylines throughout the 90s.
