EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ major exit as they unmask culprit behind Kathy’s Café fire
EASTENDERS fans think they have uncovered the identity of the fire-starter at Kathy’s Cafe.
Viewers of the BBC soap know that a devastating blaze is set to rip through the Walford landmark ran by Kathy Beale (Gillian Talyforth), after The Sun shared an exclusive photo from the disaster.
Although the identity has been kept firmly under wraps, it has not stopped fans from sharing their theories and speculation online.
It seems that one Albert Square resident is particularly swirling up rumours online.
After The Sun confirmed that Brian Conley, famed for his role as Rocky Cotton, had quit the show, fans have been waiting on edge to see just how he will leave.
A skint Rocky has been facing an immense amount of pressure lately and with his money worries mounting, some have suggested that he could burn the premises down as part of a shocking insurance scam.
Despite Kathy having paid off his pesky ex-wife in order for the pair to begin married life well and truly happy, it seems that Rocky’s intrusive thoughts will soon come to bite him back.
Viewers of the BBC One soap have seen references to Rocky being caught up with gambling which looks set to add a further financial burden to himself.
He will soon be seen heading to the bookies in order to win himself some extra cash after facing questions on missing money from both his wife and Jay Brown.
So could this be his motivation to burn down the cafe and wreck his wife’s livelihood?
Suggesting the theory on X – formerly Twitter – one fan said: “Is Kathy’s café fire gonna be an insurance claim by Rocky?”
Another echoed: “Rocky looks very under pressure – just wait until Kathy finds out that he’s been gambling money away that they can’t afford.
“This is what makes me think that Rocky will set the cafè on fire so he can claim insurance money to pay off his debt repayments.”
A third also agreed, writing: “Rocky going down the gambling route and he’s in debt with Kathy.
“He’ll definitely start the Cafe fire.”
The BBC are yet to confirm any details of the upcoming fire storyline.
It has been suggested that one character could be killed in the shock blaze which is set to air later this year.
