EastEnders fans spot chilling clue linking ‘The Six’ murder to Dirty Den’s death

Soap viewers have been speculating over a huge chilling clue that they say shows shock twist Christmas killing was linked to Dirty Den's murder which aired on BBC One in 2005

EastEnders fans reckon they’ve spotted a chilling clue that reveals Christmas murder was linked to Dirty Den’s killing.

Since the The Six’s Christmas Day murder which saw Keanu Taylor knifed in the back by Linda Carter in a shock twist, the soap’s fans have been excitedly delving into the storyline and think that it shares too many similarities to the murder of Dirty Den to be coincidence.

Keanu had turned on his almost-wife Sharon Watts after she jilted him on their wedding day and in temper tried to strangle her in the pub, but Sharon’s best pal Linda bravely went to save her – with deadly consequences.

In 1989 the villain scarpered from Albert Square after four years, when a criminal gang called The Firm shot him with a gun hidden in a bunch of daffodils and adopted daughter Sharon was left to identify his body. But he returned from the dead in 2003 after it turned out he had been living in Spain and moved back to the square with his new wife Chrissie Watts.

In February 2005 after it emerged he had slept with his son Dennis’ girlfriend Zoe Slater, Chrissie found out Zoe was pregnant and tried to get her to terminate the pregnancy. In a storyline similar to the Six’s Chrissie went with Zoe and Den’s other ex lover Sam Mitchell to challenge Den after closing time in the Queen Vic pub.

When Sharon came round to see her father, she overheard them all arguing and found out what her dad was really like and disowned him. As a result he reacted in fury and attacked the women with Zoe hitting him over the head to protect them from his violence.

But while Zoe thought she had killed him and later fled Walford for Ibiza, it was actually Chrissie who dealt the killer blow. She pleaded guilty to murder and went to jail, while Den was buried in his first grave next to wife Angie. The 20th-anniversary episode was watched by over 17 million viewers in February 2005.

A eagle eyed fan wrote: “Both Keanu & Den were killed by a group of woman. Both were killed because they were trying to protect someone. Both have been now buried under buildings.”

And they added: “Everyone was looking at the songs and letters, but maybe the jukebox being in the trailer was a bigger clue than anyone realised.”

Dirty Den Watts who had the opening line in the first episode of EastEnders in 1985 became one of its biggest villains after he manipulated half the Square, slept with his son’s girlfriend and even came back from the dead. The character broke TV records on Christmas day in 1986, when he handed wife of 19 years Angie divorce papers watched by 30 million people.
