EastEnders fans ‘work out’ another huge return amid Dean’s comeback — and it’s days away
EastEnders bad boy Dean Wicks is said to be returning to Albert Square in a matter of days - but fans of the BBC One soap reckon he’s not the only one coming back
EastEnders fans reckon they have worked out the return of an iconic character, amid claims villain Dean Wicks is heading back on the show.
It was reported last week that actor Matt Di Angelo is making a comeback to the BBC One Soap seven years after his exit. He was last seen back in 2016 when he was acquitted of the attempted rape of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons).
According to reports, the star has already filmed scenes and bosses have been keen to keep his return under wraps in a bid to shock viewers. However, some fans have speculated that Dean could be returning in a matter of days.
Soap boss Chris Clenshaw confirmed star Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) will be in for a massive shock on Halloween night. So much so that fans think it will be her rapist Dean who turns up in a shock twist.
As fans will recall Shirley, who first appeared on the soap back in 2006, left at the start of the year when son Mick (Danny after) went missing at sea. Since then, she’s not been seen since.
Actress Linda announced her break from the show at the time. However, she assured fans it would just be temporary- leading fans to sit around and wait for her return.
And it’s fair to say fans are certain the show legend will be back with her son, Dean. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person mused: “I wonder if Dean’s return could be part of an agreement to bring Linda Henry back.”
Someone else added: “I can’t say I’m bothered about Dean returning, but surely Shirley won’t be too far behind if Linda Henry is actually returning?” A third quipped: “Could this mean that Shirley IS returning?!”
Echoing their thoughts, another viewer penned: “Even if Dean is still killed off in a couple of months, bringing him back now does mean we’re going to get some knockout drama from Kellie Bright very soon, and I’m all for that. I’m also very excited that this might mean Shirley is due back soon. She might even rock up with Dean.”

A fifth wrote: “who is her surprise visitor? If it’s her Rapist Dean Wicks I wonder if he’ll bring Shirley back with him. I’m excited!!! A sixth also penned: “Shirley is coming back after Mick’s suspected death last Christmas, and her return is with Dean as she wants to mend paths with Dean as she doesn’t want to lose another Son.”
Another penned: “After Danny Dyer and other Carters leaving, I reckon Henry would want somebody in her on-screen family with her.”
