Newcomers Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) and Avani (Aaliyah James) have made a huge impact on the Panesar family in EastEnders.
Priya is Ravi’s (Aaron Thiara) ex-girlfriend. She arrived a few months ago with Avani in tow, who was revealed to be Ravi’s daughter.
During their first scenes, while Priya dealt with seeing Ravi again, Avani was wandering through the market and tried to flirt with Zack (James Farrar) and Martin (James Bye).
The cheeky teen told Martin that she’s 18 years old but when she eventually arrived at the Panesar household, Priya’s comments suggested that Avani is slightly younger than Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), who is still at school.
While the comment towards Martin could’ve happened to establish Avani’s character early on, a scene this week has left many wondering if she was telling the truth about her age – and Priya is lying.
During a meal at Walford East, Nish (Navin Chowdhry) told Avani she needed to finish school first before thinking about her career.
Avani responded and said: ‘Yeah, well, what’s school ever done for anyone?’.
EastEnders fans picked up on Priya’s reaction and now believe the mother and daughter are hiding a secret.
‘Looks like Priya and Avani are hiding something’, one Twitter/X user said.
After the scenes at the restaurant aired, another person wrote: ‘This is probably nothing but priya looked at avani in hope she wouldn’t let something slip…’.
Priya will land herself in trouble soon when she kisses Nish in front of Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Vinny (Shiv Jalota).
This will be the catalyst for Suki telling Vinny that she’s incredibly unhappy in her marriage with Nish, prompting her son to say that he won’t stand in her way if she wants to be with Eve (Heather Peace).
As Suki plans to leave Walford for a new life, Eve will be the one to make the final decision.
Will she leave with Suki, or stay and develop her new relationship with Tessa?
