Now that the big Super Soap Week episodes on ITV have culminated, it’s time to get excited for the next massive event – EastEnders’ reveal of the killer and victim in its big Christmas episodes.
And the cast are knee-deep in the exciting scenes, with Max Bowden sharing a cheeky snap from the set.
The actors are spending their evenings working on a dramatic night-shoot which will form just one aspect of packed episodes.
A grinning Max posed with colleagues and mates Shane Richie (Alfie Moon), Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown), Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell) and Tony Clay (Callum Highway).
Naturally, no spoilers came with it, but the Christmassy Albert Square in the background, and the night-shoot implying they are up to the key episodes are enough to give fans a thrill.
Way back at the beginning of the year, a flashforward showed off six of the most iconic women of Walford standing over the corpse of an unidentified character.
It could have easily have been the case that the long chunk of time between then and the Christmas reveal may have ended up exhaustively too long.
But fans have been discussing and theorising over every single hint, from what characters have been wearing and the location of cufflinks, right through to sneaky pieces of dialogue spliced here and there.
We’re just as obsessed with it, with a rolling feature of all the clues we can spot, and what they mean.
Back at the start of the year, it felt that it was an age away, but doesn’t time fly?
The reveal is just two months away – but there are big events to come even before then.
Big character exits include Brian Conley departing as gambling addict Rocky Cotton, while Karen Taylor is also set to depart, with Lorraine Stanley leaving the show amid the character’s plot with Keanu (Danny Walters) to take Albie away.
There are also new castings, with Ravi Gulati’s family expanding, not to mention a shocking fire at the cafe, suspected to kill at least one character off.
And The Six will become more prominent than ever before. Will Sharon fight back against Keanu?
New blood in Walford (Picture: BBC)
Will Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) be forced to confront husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry) after he discovers her affair with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace)?
Will the specter of Theo (William Ellis) drive Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) to drastic action?
Will Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) be able to cope after the demise of her marriage, with a recent accidental plot reveal confirming he almost causes her death?
Will an upcoming crisis in the relationship of Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) be a catalyst for a showdown?
And where does a Halloween horror for Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) fit in?
It’s going to be a very eventful climax to 2023 in EastEnders!
