EastEnders’ Gillian Taylforth finds love with toy-boy after splitting from drug baron
BBC soap legend Gillian Taylforth has been able to take the plunge in the dating pool once again as she was pictured with her company director boyfriend some 10 years her junior
EastEnders acting legend Gillian Taylforth has seemingly found love again as she was seen with her new toy-boy.
The actress, 68, was photographed with her new partner Philip Oag whilst on a walk through the Hertfordshire suburbs. Philip, who works as a company director, was seen in a navy blue blazer and a pair of dark blue trousers, sporting the look with a pair of brown suede boots.
Gillian, who plays the role of Kathy Beale on the BBC soap, wrapped up as she donned a fleecy jacket which she paired with a luscious white scarf draped loosely around her neck. She finished her ensemble with a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of chunky black boots.
The pair seemingly looked loved up, smiling to each other and gazing into each other’s eyes. Sources close to the pair told The Sun the duo had been dating over a year and have already moved in together, with Philip moving into Gillian’s digs.
An insider told the newspaper: “Gillian is head over heels for Philip – they’ve been secretly dating for over a year and he’s even moved into her home. Everyone’s so pleased for her.”
Her new budding romance comes after she called off her wedding to then-fiancé David Fairbairn in 2019. A convicted drug baron, Fairbairn and Taylford had been dating since 2013 until she called time on their relationship following a spate of bitter arguments between the two.
Despite having spent seven years behind bars in 2003 for plotting to import one of the biggest hauls of ecstasy in UK history, David continued his escapades after his release. He was jailed once again in 2022 after confessing to the possession of firearms and being found guilty for perverting the course of justice.
Gillian has had an on-off relationship with her character Kathy after she left Eastenders in 2000, after 15 years on the soap. After leaving Walford behind, she went on to star in a plethora of other shows including Hollyoaks and Footballers’ Wives before returning to the Square in 2015.
Beale is currently penniless on the BBC titan soap as she struggles to find a home with new hubby Rocky, played by Brian Conley. Kathy is currently unaware that her new beau is hiding a secret gambling addiction.
