EastEnders icon ‘to return with Sharon Watts’ after six years in huge twist, AI claims
EXCLUSIVE: EastEnders’ Sharon Watts fled Walford this month to visit pal Michelle Fowler in Australia - but now fans reckon both of the soap icons will be making a comeback
EastEnders fans are certain that Michelle Fowler will be heading back to the soap with Sharon Watts.
The character made her Walford debut back in 1985 played by Susan Tully. She remained on the soap for 10 years before departing after the character emigrated to Alabama.
And it’s fair to say she was involved in plenty of major storylines during her time as Michelle. Most notably, she discovered she was pregnant at the age of 16 with Den Watts’ baby, who was the adoptive father of her best friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Michelle returned to Albert Square in 2016, however Susan chose not to return. She handed the reins over to Jenna Russell who played the character for just over one year.
The character stayed in Walford until 2018 before leaving for Australia. But now fans, and AI, are certain that she will be making a comeback.
As fans will recall, Michelle’s best pal Sharon was involved in the Christmas Day murder – that saw her beau Keanu Taylor get stabbed by Linda Carter. Unable to cope, Sharon fled Walford to go visit Michelle in Australia.
And in episodes last week, it was revealed that Michelle is undergoing a hysterectomy. As a result, brother Martin (James Bye) has also decided to fly out and join her and Sharon in Aus.
Now, it’s been claimed that when Sharon heads back to Walford – she won’t be alone. On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans reckon Sharon will be joined by Michelle.
One person said: “Martin best bring Michelle and at the very least, Vicky back with him)!” Someone else added: “The fact we will probably have Michelle and Vicki back or one of the two by the end of this year is making me dizzy.”
A third quipped: “Honestly, if they get Susan Tully back for Michelle with Sharon coming back from Australia. It needs to happen like give her ALL THE MONEY.”

Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if Michelle could be heading back to the soap with Sharon. The program responded: “The possibility of a Fowler family reunion, especially alongside Sharon, could be a compelling storyline.”
Bard AI then listed reasons for Michelle’s return. It explained: “Sharon’s recent visit to Australia, where Michelle currently resides, opens the door for them to reconnect and potentially return to Walford together.”
The system went on: “Michelle’s last departure in 2018 was rushed and unresolved, with her facing legal issues and emotional struggles. There’s still room for the writers to revisit her story and offer closure.”
