EastEnders’ James Bye lands a big-money role away from the BBC soap after Strictly fame
The soap star will be playing his new role from December to January 2024
EASTENDERS star James Bye has landed a big-money role away from the BBC soap after his Strictly fame.
The actor, who is best known for playing Martin Fowler in the Walford based show, took part in the dance competition last year.
James and partner Amy Dowden were the first pair to be eliminated from the show.
Now, a year on from the show, James is about to swap EastEnders to make his pantomime debut this Christmas.
The soap star will be playing the Prince in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre.
He will take to the stage from December 1 to January 3 2024.
This means that James will probably have to take some time away from EastEnders to appear in the production.
James isn’t the only star from the BBC soap who have gone on to take part in panto.
The likes of Steve McFadden and Shona McGarty will be this year.
It comes after James and his wife Victoria revealed their newborn son’s name a week after his birth.
The pair welcomed their latest arrival into the world on June 18.
They wrote on Instagram: “Rufus Gray… 18.06.23… 8lb 1oz” alongside a picture of the tot sleeping.
The couple share four sons in total.
