EastEnders viewers are convinced they’ve worked out exactly how Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) will leave Walford.
It has been confirmed that the character will bid farewell to Albert Square in the near future but his exit storyline is yet to be revealed by soap bosses. Skint Rocky has recently tied the knot with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and fans think he’s going to set her café on fire as part of a insurance scam.
The newlyweds have been going through a rough financial patch as Kathymade the decision to pay off Rocky’s former wife Jo Cotton (Vicki Michelle) in an attempt to finally get rid of her. Unfortunately, Rocky (Brian Conley) has chosen the easy, underhanded way of making money and is up to his old tricks next week on BBC One.
However, it has come to light that he may be battling a gambling addiction. Rocky has had to stall Kathy when she asked why his share of their loan repayments isn’t in her account. He lied that Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) forgot to do the wages but secretly heads to the bookies to try to win the money.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “Is Kathy’s café fire gonna be an insurance claim by Rocky? and someone else wrote: “Rocky looks very under pressure – just wait until Kathy finds out that he’s been gambling money away that they can’t afford. This is what makes me think that Rocky will set the cafè on fire so he can claim insurance money to pay off his debt repayments.”
Another added: “Hold up. Cafe fire theory time. What if you know Rocky and Theo go up like Tom and Trevor? What with Rocky actually being called Tom.” A fourth person said: “Rocky going down the gambling route and he’s in debt with Kathy. He’ll definitely start the Cafe fire.”
EastEnders will reportedly air a shocking fire stunt at Kathy Beale’s café this autumn on the BBC soap. It has been claim that characters could be left in serious danger as a fire spreads through the building in dramatic scenes. No details have been confirmed by the BBC soap about the shocking storyline or what happens.
What has been teased is that some fan favourites could be left fighting for their lives, with huge repercussions in the fallout. It’s also teased questions will be raised as to what or who causes the fire, with it tipped to be deliberate.
