EastEnders Nish’s motive for Kat romance ‘rumbled’ as fans say it’ll ‘end in disaster’
EastEnders fans reckon Nish and Kat are set for a romance on the square - but plenty claim they've worked out the real reason he is setting his sights on the soap icon
EastEnders fans reckon they have rumbled the real reason Nish Panesar is wanting to start a romance with Kat Slater.
This week, Kat (Jessie Wallace) was left heartbroken when she found out about husband Phil Mitchell’s one-night-stand with Emma Harding. Fuming, she packed up her things and moved into Stacey Slater’s with her children.
However during Friday’s episode (January 19) Walford villain Nish appeared to get close to Kat – after noticing her vulnerability. He even offered to put her up in one of his houses while she sorts out her finances.
Later on, Kat turned up at Nish’s to demand what he was after. “I’m desperate, but I’m not stupid,” she told the buisnessman.
She then accepted his offer to which Nish questioned how Phil would feel about it. She said: “I’m looking forward, not back” and the two then toasted to “new beginnings” – but it was clear Nish had an ulterior motive.

Now, with a romance potentially blossoming between the two, fans are not too happy. And some have claimed they’ve worked out the ‘real reason’ Nish is eyeing up Kat.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “This is clearly a tactical move from Nish to get one up on Phil. He’ll also aim to make Suki jealous and try to undermine her.”
Someone else added: “This is actually disgusting. Nish & Kat have never had any scenes with each other pre to now not even any romantic intentions. This is clearly a business move from Nish to dominate Phil.” A third quipped: “Oh Kat – I hope you know what you’re doing getting close to Nish like this. This partnership will end in disaster.”
