EastEnders Sharon Watts exit ‘sealed’ as AI says it’s ‘possible’ she’ll leave for good

EastEnders icon Letitia Dean has been a part of the soap since 1985, but with things looking turbulent for her character Sharon Watts, AI has waded in on what could take place next

AI has shared its take on whether Sharon Watts will leave EastEnders for good and said it is “possible”.

The long-serving character, played by Letitia Dean, has been a part of the soap since 1985 and has been involved in a number of hard-hitting storylines. This includes the death of her son Dennis, her infamous love triangle with brothers Phil and Grant Mitchell and trying to kill Ian Beale by poisoning him.

In more recent storylines, Sharon’s exit appears to be imminent due to a new job opportunity on the cards. But will this see her leave Albert Square permanently?

Sharing its take on the matter, AI said: “It is not yet known whether EastEnders Sharon will leave Walford for good. The BBC soap has hinted at a possible exit for the character, but nothing has been confirmed.

“In recent episodes, Sharon has been offered a job opportunity in Abu Dhabi by boxing promoter Dorian Gates. She is initially hesitant to leave Walford, but she is tempted by the offer of a new start.

“Sharon has had a difficult few years in Walford. She has lost her husband, Phil, and her son, Dennis. She has also been struggling with her business, The Queen Vic.

“It is possible that Sharon will decide to take the job in Abu Dhabi and leave Walford for good. However, it is also possible that she will change her mind and decide to stay. Only time will tell what Sharon will decide to do.”

AI has also confirmed that award-winning actress Letitia is more than happy to still be a part of the soap. It added: “In the meantime, Letitia Dean, the actress who plays Sharon, has said that she is happy to stay on the show for as long as they want her. So, it seems that the decision of whether or not Sharon leaves Walford is ultimately up to the EastEnders producers.”

After bravely proposing to Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Sharon decided to give up on their relationship. But new love interest Dorian (Luke J. I. Smith) could also be the reason why Sharon decides to leave the Square.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.30pm
