Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has signed Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) death warrant in EastEnders after notifying the police that she’s alive, thus setting in motion the release ofRavi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).

Ravi and Nish, as viewers know, were framed earlier this week by Eve, who staged her long-awaited comeback to the Square, much to the relief of Suki (Balvinder Sopal), who was under the impression that she was dead.

Nish had ordered Eve’s murder after finding out about her affair with Suki, but Ravi was unable to go through with the killing, allowing Eve to live in exchange for her disappearing.

Eve bought her time before staging her comeback, having both Nish and Ravi set up for her murder after planting a blood-soaked shirt belonging to her in the latter’s car.

Jack, meanwhile, was tasked with notifying Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) of Eve’s alleged death so you can imagine his shock when he walked into Stacey’s home to find Eve alive and well.

Eve pleaded with Jack to keep her fate from his colleagues in order to allow her and lover Suki to escape Walford.

Jack struggled to cope with the thought of Nish and Ravi going down for a crime they didn’t actually commit but Eve assured the detective that the two gangsters cannot be trusted and that they will kill her if they’re set free.

Jack agreed to keep shtum for a short time but ultimately he reconsidered in Friday’s (December 22) edition of the BBC One soap after Suki resorted to blackmailing him over his one night stand with Stacey.

Following a row with both Stacey and wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish), the detective ultimately phoned the station to notify them that Eve is alive. Nish and Ravi were therefore allowed to walk free.

The question is: will Eve’s prediction come to pass?

Will Ravi and Nish come after her for blood? We know that one man will end up dead on Christmas Day but, if either Nish or Ravi prove to be the body on the floor of the Vic, could this come after they’ve killed Eve?

EastEnders continues Christmas Day at 9:45pm on BBC One.
