EastEnders spoilers: Dean gets big news over Jade’s transplant and faces a reckoning
When Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) returned in EastEnders, he revealed to Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) that his daughter Jade is currently a patient in a hospital nearby.
Jade is Dean and Shabnam Masood’s daughter and has cystic fibrosis. She will return to Walford this coming week and decides to visit her brother Zaair’s grave.
After, Jade is at the Beale’s Eels grotto when Linda arrives to confront Dean over a picture of him and Ollie.
As they argue, Keanu (Danny Walters) reveals to Jade that her dad is sexual predator. Understandably horrified, Jade then leaves.
In a new week, Dean is stunned to receive a call from the hospital with an update about a transplant for Jade.
Sadly, it ends up being called off so Dean heads to the pub to drown his sorrows.
There, he gets food for thought after a conversation with Rocky (Brian Conley) about forgiveness, but what will this prompt Dean to do?
Speaking about where Dean is at in the lead up to Christmas, Matt Di Angelo recently told us: ‘Dean is very much back in the Square now trying to make his business work and take care of his sick daughter. He’s trying his hardest to integrate into the community.’
Discussing Dean’s mindset after raping Linda back in 2014, Matt added: ‘Dean very much thinks he’s innocent – he truly believes that so he is surprised that people who did believe him before, now don’t.
‘So he’s having to deal with that, and he is finding that the people of Walford are standing behind Linda so he wants to change their mind.
‘He doesn’t have a choice, he needs his life in Walford to work.’
