Poor Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) is set to face a vicious attack from Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in EastEnders as she gets caught in the crossfire of his row with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
When Kathy agrees to sell the café to evil Nish, she doesn’t expect him to drop a huge bombshell alongside it, but that’s exactly what he does.
With the terms of the sale agreed, Nish leaves Kathy reeling as he implies that husband Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) was responsible for the fire.
Viewers will know that Rocky fell into some serious debts after his ex-wife conned him and Kathy out of £50,000.
Desperate to get back on track, Rocky took out an ill-advised loan with Nish, and after realising he couldn’t afford the repayments, decided to set fire to the café as part of an insurance scam.
After learning from Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) that Nish is right, Kathy confronts Rocky, and the next day son Ian (Adam Woodyatt) urges her to shop him to the police.
However, Kathy is far angrier at Nish than she is Rocky, and soon confronts him in the Queen Vic, demanding an apology.
Nish refutes her accusations, but soon turns on Bernie when she comes between them.
Brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) is quick to come to her defence, lashing out at Nish in the process.
Thankfully, the fight between Keanu and Nish is soon defused before there are any casualties.
