EastEnders spoilers: Kat Slater is furious after receiving an unwelcome surprise from Phil Mitchell

Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was left devastated when she learnt that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had cheated on her with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) in EastEnders, and has done all she can to distance herself from him in the aftermath of her discovery.

Almost immediately after Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) announced Phil’s infidelity in the Queen Vic, Kat ended things with him and moved out of their house.

Unfortunately, the Slater’s house was far too crowded for them to stay long, and Kat was left wondering what she was going to do.

Remarkably, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) was quick to offer her a flat that she and her boys could stay in rent-free until she managed to free her money from Phil’s businesses.

Things between Nish and Kat soon became much more complicated than just landlord and tenant when they ended up sharing a passionate kiss.

This came after a disastrous date that was interrupted by a furious Phil, who upset Kat by calling her vile names.

In upcoming scenes, Kat can’t forget about the way Phil has treated her as he tries to get back in her good books, having grown determined to win her back.

She is left furious when she receives a surprise gift from him and is horrified by the contents.

She wastes no time in heading over to give Phil his money back but is left stunned when he begs her to come back home.

Kat is too hurt by his actions to even consider forgiving him and makes it clear that she won’t be coming back.

Lonely and upset, Kat turns instead to an equally lonely Nish, and the pair toast to their freedom – but are they as happy as they make out?
