EastEnders spoilers: Nish Panesar reveals his controlling side to Kat Slater as their relationship gets dark
EastEnders fans were left horrified when they realised that abuser Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) was going to start a relationship with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), and it seems they were right to be concerned.
During his time on the Square, Nish has proved to be a violent, controlling man, who put wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) through hell during their marriage.
Following his release from prison in 2022, he made it his mission to regain control of his family, even turning violent to keep his wife and children in line.
But now that Suki has escaped his clutches, and sought freedom with girlfriend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), Nish has turned his attention to Kat, who is notably vulnerable following her split from husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Kat was horrified to learn that Phil had cheated on her, but her plan to leave him hit a stumbling block when she realised all of her assets were tied in with his.
Cue: Nish.
After offering her a free flat to stay in while she gets her affairs in order, Nish asked Kat out on a date, which she eventually accepted, and soon the pair fell into bed together.
In upcoming scenes, Nish will continue to love bomb Kat by presenting her with a new coat.
Though Kat is flattered by the gift, it clearly isn’t to her taste, and she is reluctant to accept it.
Things go from bad to worse when Nish later chastises her for questioning Priya Nandra-Hart’s (Sophie Khan Levy) work ethic, leaving Kat unimpressed.
In a bid to make a point, Kat deliberately leaves without her new coat – which doesn’t go unnoticed by Nish.
She is soon shocked when Nish catches up with her and asks her to put it on, before being interrupted by Jean Slater (Gillian Wright).
With the Slaters still horrified by Kat’s choice of man, Jean lays down some home truths about her relationship with Nish, but will Kat listen?
When Kat later demands an audience with Phil, has she changed her mind?
