It’s all set to come crashing down for Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) in EastEnders, as his involvement in the café fire is finally revealed.

With Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) piling on the pressure over the sale of the café, Rocky turns to best friend Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) for advice. But when Harvey suggests coming clean to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Rocky despairs.

‘He’s got no one else to blame but himself and he really shouldn’t have gone to Nish to ask for a loan – what did he ever expect?’ Actor Brian Conley pointed out.

‘It’s made even worse that it is Christmas. I think moments like this really do magnify over the Christmas period where everyone is joyous and looking forward, so he’s just devastated about the whole thing and I don’t think he can see a way out even though he tries to remain positive.’

Viewers will know that Rocky was responsible for the café fire, which left Peter Beale (Thomas Law) fighting for his life and saw Kathy arrested for the crime – though Kathy still believes that it was an accident.

With their finances in ruin as a result, a conversation with her sons encourages Kathy to hear Nish out over a deal for the café, and soon she agrees to sell to him.

With the power back in his hands, Nish can’t help but stick the knife in as he implies that Rocky was to blame for the fire.

Horrified Kathy seeks out Harvey for answers, who all but confirms her suspicions.

Following Kathy’s subsequent confrontation with Rocky, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is adamant that she should shop him to the police.

However, Kathy is resolute as she rejects the idea, instead piling the blame on Nish as she confronts him in the Queen Vic.

Fans will know that Brian Conley is set to leave the show in the near future, though just how his exit comes about remains to be seen.

With Ian aware of Rocky’s involvement in the fire and Kathy refusing to do anything about it, could Ian go behind her back and report Rocky himself?
