Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) is absolutely raging when she finds out the truth about baby Albie’s dad in EastEnders – and makes sure Zack Hudson (James Farrar) knows exactly where she stands.
After the shocking events of Christmas Day, and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) finding out that his ex wife Sharon Watts’ baby Albie, is in fact his, it’s fair to say events in Albert Square have gone into orbit.
It all kicked off before Christmas, when Albie was diagnosed with a rare condition.
This led Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) to realise that Phil was his dad, not latest beau Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who – despite a fake kidnap attempt on the tot – had been doting on Albie.
Then a drunken Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Sharon were overhead talking about Albie’s paternity by Phil’s wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) in the ladies loos at the Queen Vic.
Kat agreed to keep Sharon’s secret after the matriarchs had a fiery stand-off, during which Sharon insisted Phil would surely give Kat the boot if he had the chance of a life with her and baby Albie.
But Phil’s sister Sam is absolutely raging that Albie – her nephew and also a Mitchell – isn’t being partly brought up by the family.
She wants revenge, and corners Zack – Sharon’s half-brother – to issue him with a warning in no uncertain terms.
Her demand is simple: Either they give the Mitchells access rights to baby Albie, or they will drag his family through the courts to get them.
Phil, however, isn’t too pleased to hear of his sister’s demands and therefore gives her a dressing down, which leaves her feeling humiliated.
But, despite Phil’s actions, Sam doesn’t stop there. Finding out that Kat knew Phil was the dad and didn’t tell anyone, she’s left completely speechless.
It’s a betrayal of Phil, and the Mitchell clan, something that she just can’t stand. So Sam turns detective to find out the full truth.
Will Zack take the threats seriously and persuade Sharon to let the Mitchells’ see baby Albie? What will Sam find out, and will she tell Phil that Kat has kept such a massive secret from him?
Will baby Alfie be brought up at least partly as a Mitchell, or will Sharon stand firm?
