EastEnders spoilers: Sharon crushed as Phil issues her with bad news
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) was hit with a huge bombshell in recent EastEnders scenes when she learnt that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was actually Albie’s biological father, and not Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
Because she has kept this fact close to her chest, it has become increasingly difficult for her to work alongside her ex-husband at the Boxing Den, which led her to make a big decision.
Recent scenes saw Sharon announce to Phil that she planned on selling her half of the business, though she failed to give him the real reason behind her decision.
Unwilling to go into business with a stranger, Phil offered her £100,000 for it, and Sharon soon agreed.
With things seemingly going smoothly, it was only a matter of time before they started to go downhill. Enter: Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf).
Sam touched back down in Walford with a bang as she was thrown out of a van, announcing to Phil that she owed a drug boss, Carmillo, £100,000, and needed help getting out of a sticky situation.
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was horrified to learn that Phil was actually considering it, before he revealed that he’d already promised the money to Sharon.
Determined not to let his sister get under his skin, he refused to help her, which would soon prove to be a dangerous move.
The following day, Sam met with Carmillo, who was less than impressed to hear that she didn’t have his money.
As he grabbed her by the arm and attempted to bundle her into his car, Kat heard her screaming, and soon ran to Phil for help.
Flanked by Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and armed with a baseball bat, Phil confronted Carmillo, who threatened to come back and hurt Sam if he didn’t get his money.
With no other choice, Phil agreed to hand over the cash, leaving Sam safe, relieved and in huge debt.
After handing over the money, Phil headed to the Boxing Den where he broke the bad news to Sharon that he no longer had the money to spare to buy her out. With Sam stood by his side, Sharon instantly knew where the money had gone.
Brother Zack Hudson (James Farrar) was quick to offer his sympathy, pointing out how much the gym meant to her and how things were moving way too fast.
Sharon lamented that she was now stuck working with him day in, day out, which would mean having to work extra hard to keep her secret.
Turning to tough love, Zack said that she would just have to get used to it.
Will Sharon manage to keep it under wraps, or will her secret come spilling out?
