EastEnders spoilers: The Six’s fate ‘sealed’ as struggling ‘killer’ spirals out of control
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) has been seriously struggling in EastEnders since realising her iconic necklace had been buried with Keanu Taylor’s body during The Six’s coverup of his murder.
Keanu was stabbed to death on Christmas Day by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who was trying to protect best friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). In the immediate aftermath, The Six decided to band together and hide what had really happened by dumping Keanu’s body in the burnt-out café.
When they realised he was close to being discovered, they snuck back in and buried the body properly, unaware that Denise’s necklace was in the hole with him as they poured concrete over the top.
Now, Denise is trying, and failing, to hold it together as their secret weighs heavy on her, and her marriage to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) continues to suffer.
In recent scenes, Denise arranged for them to visit a marriage guidance counsellor, pointing out that if they couldn’t repair their marriage then they’d have nothing left.
Jack agreed, and soon they were heading off to the appointment, much to the horror of concerned Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
Having already blackmailed Denise into not digging up Keanu’s body to retrieve her necklace, Kathy was left concerned that she would let something slip in front of Jack during their therapy session, and she soon called a crisis meeting with the remaining members of The Six to discuss the issue.
She pointed out that Jack was a police officer and could easily pick up on something, though Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) argued that Jack wasn’t going to start cross-examining his wife during their marriage guidance session.
Stacey was right, of course, as Jack’s main focus during the session was to prove how sorry he was for sleeping with Stacey and jeopardising his marriage to Denise.
However, he was left hurt when it became clear that Denise wasn’t actually listening, and later confronted her about her behaviour. Denise covered, suggesting that maybe it was too soon for marriage counselling, leaving Jack hurt.
In the Vic barrel store, Kathy was somewhat calmer, until Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) set the cat among the pigeons once more when she revealed Denise’s trip to see Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) the previous day, and explained how easily things could have gone wrong.
With Denise spiralling out of control, Stacey paid Jack a visit to try and glean some information from him about their session with the counsellor.
She was able to determine that he was still in the dark about what they had done, but will it stay that way, or will Denise crack under the pressure?
